บู้ซือ อาจอ ศิลปินชนเผ่าอาข่า คนแรกของประเทศไทย เธอเติบโตมาใน อ. แม่จัน จ.เชียงราย พื้นที่อาศัยอุดมด้วยธรรมชาติ ใกล้ชิดกับแม่น้ำป่าเขา บู้ซื้อคือจิตรกรที่เรียนรู้การวาดภาพด้วยตัวเอง บู้ซื้อมีกระบวนการวาดภาพที่ไม่เหมือนใคร บริสุทธิ และตรงไปตรงมา โดยพื้นฐานบู้ซื้อเป็นหญิงสาวชาวอาข่า ที่ทำงานรับจ้างทั่วไป กระทังวันหนึ่งเธอได้ค้นพบว่าการวาดภาพคือสิ่งที่เธอชอบ และด้วยการชักนำของอาจารย์ สยาม พึ่งอุดม ศิลปินชาวเชียงรายผู้ได้มาพบภาพวาดของบู๊ซือเมื่อเธอทำงานเป็นพนักงานเสิร์ฟ ทำให้ผลงานของเธอได้เป็นที่รู้จัก สำหรับบู้ซือที่เติบโตมาท่ามกลางป่าเขา และลำธาร หลายๆ ครั้งเธอได้ถ่ายทอดอารมณ์ความรู้สึกที่มีต่อธรรมชาติ หรือเรื่องราวในชีวิตที่เธอได้พบเจอด้วยการวาดภาพ แม้ชาวอาข่านับถือผี แต่ก็มีการรับคริสต์ศาสนาตามการเผยแพร่อยู่บ้าง บู๊ซือได้ศึกษาทั้งพระคัมภีร์ทั้งใหม่และเก่า เติบโตขึ้นมาเธอกับศาสนาพุทธ ความจริงของธรรมชาติจึงเป็นแรงบันดาลใจที่ทำให้เธอวาดภาพอย่างต่อเนื่อง
Busui Ajaw is Thailand’s first artist with Akha heritage. She spent much of her youth in the Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai province, surrounded by the lush natural environments and rushing waters of her rural home. Busui is a self-taught painter, with her own unique method of painting, which can be described as pure and straight forward. Originally, Busui is an Akha woman who took on odd jobs, until she discovered her passion for drawing. Encouraged by famed Chiang Rai-based artist Siam Puengudom, who came across Busui’s illustrations while she was working as a waitress, Busui’s works became well-known and accepted. As someone who has grown up among the rural hills and rivers, Busui commonly expresses her feelings towards nature in her works, or moments from her own life, through her drawings. Even though the Akha people still believe in spirits, there are also many among them who have converted to Christianity, thanks to the efforts of missionaries. This afforded Busui the chance to study the Bible, both the New and Old Testaments, while having the chance to study Buddhism as an adult. Thus the truths of nature will always serve as the central inspirations behind her drawings.

เผาป่าเผาชีวิต โดย บู้ซือ อาจอ เป็นการนำเสนอจิตรกรรมอย่างตรงไปตรงมา ผืนป่าที่ถูกเผาด้วยมือมนุษย์ทำลาย ชีวิตของสัตว์ป่า ที่บินหนีเอาตัวรอด จากหมอกควันไฟ ผู้หญิงในชุดขาว (สีขาวคือความบริสุทธิ์ของชีวิต) ที่ผมและดวงตาสีแดงเพลิงยืนตระหนกตกใจอยู่ในป่าที่ถูกไฟเผากับดอกไม้สีแดงในกำมือช่อใหญ่หมายถึงความรักที่อยากอุทิศให้เหล่าสรรพสัตว์ในผืนป่าที่ต้องตายจากไปอย่างทรมาน. ป่าคือชีวิต คือ ต้นทุนแรก ที่จะทำให้ชีวิตต่อยอดออกไปเป็นหลายสิ่ง หากป่าถูกทำร้าย ชีวิตมนุษย์และสรรพสัตว์น้อยใหญ่ก็จะไม่มีต้นทุนของชีวิตหลงเหลืออีกต่อไป บู้ซือเป็นคนที่อาศัยอยู่กับป่า เธอรู้ว่าป่าคือบ้านที่แท้จริงของชีวิต การดูแลรักษาผืนป่า สิ่งแวดล้อม คือการรักษาชีวิต ด้วยการไม่คิดทำร้ายสิ่งแวดล้อมด้วยการเผา เพราะหลังจากการเผาป่า ต้นไม้และสรรพสัตว์น้อยใหญ่รวมทั้งมนุษย์จะต้องพบกับความยากลำบากในการอยู่อาศัยบนโลกใบนี้ปัญหา คือผู้คนมักง่ายต่อการกำจัดวัชพืชในไร่นาที่หลังเก็บเกี่ยวพืชผลด้วยการจุดไฟเผาเพื่อทำลาย ด้วยการไม่รู้ถึงผลร้ายที่จะตามมาอากาศที่เราหายใจเป็นสิ่งมีค่ายิ่งต่อทุกชีวิตวิธีทีแก้ปัญหาควรให้ความรู้แก่ชาวบ้าน ทั้งทางตรงและทางอ้อม
“Burning Forests, Burning Lives” by Busui Ajaw presents a blunt illustration of burning forests, brought about by the hands of humans. The image shows illustrations of animals, fleeing every which way for their lives amidst the choking fumes. A woman in a white dress (white signifying the purity of life) with flaming red eyes and hair stands defiant in the flaming woods, a bouquet of red flowers clutched in hand, meant to signify the love she hopes to dedicate to the unfortunate lives that died writhing and burning in pain. Forests are life itself, they are the central resource from which all others branch out from. To harm the forests is to destroy the most crucial resource possessed by humans and animals the world over. Having spent her life among the forests, Busui knows that they are the true cradle of all life. To protect the forests, the environment, is to protect life itself. To thoughtlessly damage the environment through burning only leads to future difficulties for all living things, with so many continuing to use these harmful methods to destroy weeds during harvest season, unknowingly jeopardizing the very air that we breathe. Proper education is the best solution to hopefully solving the problem, directly and otherwise.
